Preference.
1. Family gatherings. Food, old photos, making music & reminiscing.
2. Chardonnay.
3. Book lights.
4. Whimsical picture frames and the pictures that go in them.
5. Reconnecting with old friends.
Irritants.
1. Holiday/occasion banners made from metallic looking cardboard letters. Tacky.
2. Valentine's Day and everything about it. Conversation hearts, heart-shaped boxes of chocolate, cheesy stuffed animals grasping silk flowers. Ick.
3. Jesus fish on cars and bumper stickers bearing cliche Christian phrases. I'm a Christian and love Jesus but I don't feel the need to alienate people with car decals.
4. Also, secular/mainstream songs modified with Christian lyrics.
5. Overly opinionated people. To quote my friend Sara Bareilles, "You've got opinions, man. We're all entitled to 'em, but I never asked." Yeah, yeah. What are all these things besides opinions you may ask? Whether or not someone chooses to read this is their prerogative.
I hate working retail during the month of February. It's a constant reminder of the most ridiculous of holidays. The ONLY good thing about V-Day is the heart shaped Sweetarts.
